For SC Johnson, doing what's right includes protecting resources and the planet for future generations.

This affects how we power our operations, develop product formulas, and how we manufacture brands like Windex® glass cleaner and OFF!® insect repellent that you know and trust.

One great example of this commitment in action is our largest worldwide manufacturing plant, called Waxdale, in Racine, Wisconsin. Since 2005, this 2.2 million-square-foot facility has been powered by two green energy turbines.

Through a process called cogeneration, these turbines generate the daily base load of electricity for Waxdale and between half and all the steam needed for operations, depending on the season.

SC Johnson's cogeneration turbines not only could keep Waxdale up and running during a long blackout — they're saving millions of dollars each year, reducing the company's reliance on coal-fired electricity and removing 52,000 tons of greenhouse gases annually.
